My 20-something year old friend, this is the year that you stay sane!
Your life is not upside down, you just need to see things from the inside out.
Let’s think together…
I’ll write a number and I’ll ask you what it is. Tell me what you think.
6.
Six or nine? Which did you see first?
Hello my 20-something year old friend, guess what number I saw?
Nine.
Mhm-hmm.
That’s because I turned my screen and saw the number upside down. This is exactly how life can be sometimes. While a lot of you may have seen the number six, which actually it is, I chose a very different perspective to look at it.
Now, why do you think nothing has worked out the way you wanted this year? Why do you think all odds are against you and only you? Why do you think 20-something is some trap and you can’t just wait to be in your thirties?
Why?
You may not be looking at the right things. You may be seeing the wrong things really. Or, maybe you’re not seeing what you are supposed to see?
Like, yes you do not have a job but you have been learning a skill since January and you are making good progress.
Maybe the job you have is not as flashy as some other person’s own but that’s a job right there. Can’t you see?
Look around you and you will see that thing are beginning to pick up. Things are working. Things are getting better.
From January up until now, it’s been from one phase to another phase but you’ve made significant progress. Start looking at the right things. Change your perspective.
So, my friend if there is something that has really helped me stay sane, it would be keeping track of how far I have come, writing it down and being grateful for it.
Now, let’s do a short exercise.
On a book or a notepad, I want you to write out how much progress you have made. I want you to really think about this and write down every one of it. Then, write where you want to be in the next couple of months and how you would get there.
Done?
Amazing!
Now, tell me, what do you see?
This year, 2025, is a good year. Maybe not as you expected it to be but see, sometimes look at things from the inside out.
I am your 20-something friend,
Oma.
Love and Light.
